It took about sixteen years, but I'm updating the website again. Look for more sketches, and a few new treats on the booty page, which is increasingly popular for some unknown reason. Obviously, we all love booty.
12.10.04
The new Dont Panic! main page is slowy but surely being worked on. I'm sick, so that's no good.
12.06.04
As if Friday's three row comic wasn't enough... I just did another. I'm tired, and it is 2:30am, so I'm going to bed now.

Just finished a marathon session to get today's nine panel bonaza of a comic strip done. I like the art and the in-jokes a lot. There are only two more papers this fall semester, and I have a couple of great comics in the 'on-deck' circle... See you then.

Happy Turkey Day! I'm on vacation until next monday, so I hope you guys don't get too angry that there are no new comics until then. I know I'm glad. I lost my glasses a couple of days ago. Looks like it's contacts for me now. Does anyone know a good way to get rid of a glasses tan line? Je 11.13.04
One of the radio stations in town was playing every Beatles song in alphabetical order today. So I've been hangin' around, working on some stuff, and enjoying a great music day. I made some new pages for the site, and I'll put them up soon. Also, The navigation is working again. It had a few holes in it. That is never good. I'm going to go see Bill Cosby downtown at the Orpheum tonight.

My evening consisted of watching the Red Sox/Yankees ALCS game 1, while finishing up some comics. Not a very big departure from the normal Tuesday night routine around here. The Sunflower made me draw the editorial cartoon where I make a guest appearance in the comic. I didn't really want to, but that's what it takes to work for a paper. It still seems like such a non-issue, and a few angry U-View comments don't deserve a comic. But in Don't Panic, Mario returns after a year away at school in Paris. This could get interesting.

My good friend Eric was in town from New York this weekend, so I've been chilling with friends, enjoying food and drinks and playing some video games. I've been battling a cold this weekend, which kinda kept me on the sidelines. I baked cookies with a rad girl, an evening which was very domestic-y. (Is that even a word?) I ran some, missed most of Saturday asleep in bed. I saw one of my heroes- Gary Busey at a bar, and then again at the Orpheum, where he performed after a showing of The Buddy Holly Story. Rad! My Wichita State Hockey game was postponed for 2 weeks on Sunday, and that's okay by me, since I'm under the weather. And I liked today's cartoons. I was driving around buying a sub sandwich this afternoon, and there was a terribly head-on crash directly in front of me. After we made sure 911 was called, I stayed and blocked traffic until the emergency workers got there, and then gave a witness report.. It was pretty intense. To make it even more bizarre, I even saw myself on TV afterwards, walking by my car in the background of a shot of the wreck. You can't buy this kind of publicity! It's been quite a weekend. I'm going to bed.0.05.04
When I woke up this morning, I switched on the Television and 'The Price Is RIght' was on. As the picture was warming up, I could hear but not see it. I heard the crown sigh, and the 'Looser Music' play. Then Bob Barker laughed at the woman! He flat out said "Ha-ha!" to her face. I laughed and turned off the TV, knowing that nothing today would be funnier than that moment of daytime gameshow madness. I had a good day, probably in part thanks to Bob Barker's mocking laugh replaying in my head...

I'm on drugs right now. The high powered Oxycodone and Ibuprofen in my system seems to be working... And that's rocking. I did a color cartoon tonight, and I hope you like it. Watch for the very generic storyline to emerge from Steve's late sleep. Also there's a new sketch for you to check out. As for me, I'm back to school tomorrow.10.04.04
We officially broke even on our first Issue of Hipster Comics. That's kinda exciting. The second issue is in stores, and we're churning away at the third issue. The deadlines are sneaking up on us all the time. If anyone wants to submit some comics, email me. andy at moorecomics.com. We've had quite a few people join up, which is awesome. I saw the Pixies this weekend, and it was a blast. I'm going to try to keep updating this News section more often now that I remember about it.

Yo! I'm back from the land of the deadline, and I am ready to start the Fall semester of Don't Panic. Dig that crazy color Survival Guide comic, which reminds me... The Survival Guide is available on Wichita State campus newsstands today!
This Satuday, the preview copy of Hipster Comics (CHECK IT OUT) will be available in random venues. The list is coming soon.

Gyah! It has been almost a month since I last updated the news page. In this case no news did mean good news, as I've been doing random vacation-esque things the past month. These things included THE AQUABATS, flying to Georgia, and grilling food at cookouts. And now, real news: The summer cartoons are all archived (finally) and you should check them out here.

06.29.04 You may or may not have noticed that the main page looks completely different. I'm trying to generate some interest in this MiniComic. I'm excited about it, but we'll see how it turns out. -o- |
06.23.04 What's new in the land of Moorecomics? Not too much, just an awesome mini comics in the works. Plus, a few freelance jobs to keep me busy. I'll keep you posted on the mini progress. About half done right now.
-o- 06.16.04 I'm working on the Archives section as you read this. SEMESTER ONE IS DONE. Go to the main page, and then click on the inkpen to get at 'em. Oh, and enjoy today's comic. I know I do. -o- 06.10.04 In honor of summer: I present the current result of the Travels of Andy Map. I'm at 28/50 States. That's 54%. And then I've also been to Canada, two different Provinces. create your own visited states map
06.9.04 I just finished tomorrow's comic strip. If you're here, you probably have already seen it. I hope to use a lot of words like today's comic more often in the coming weeks and months. The Flames lost. Bummer. That's all the news 'round here, really. 06.6.04 Today's been a great lazy day. I'm listening to the Shocker baseball team play in Arkansas. The regional champinoship is tied in the 8th. I've been adding stuff to the sketch gallery. Tonight the summer Ice Hockey season starts. I'm stoked. 06.3.04 I went over to the Ulrich today to see Ryan Soper's installation. It was rad. Quote of the week: " It's cool when your art leaks. "Soper 1, World -3. Then, it was time to abuse a City Bites ad in the paper for all it was worth. Buy one, get one free is always a good thing when it comes to subs. Then it was off to get pictures developed from the GWAR trip. It was a buzzkill. Nothing came out from the roll, and I had gotten double prints, too. yesh. Found an awesome painter online today: Kurt Halsey Frederiksen. Check out his paintings here. Do it. I beseech you. I found them brilliant, inspiring and familiar. 06.2.04 I've had a few adventures in the last half of the month. These mostly involve getting back into distance running again, as well as going on a 'business' trip to meet some professional cartoonists in Kansas City. I've been doing more posts on my Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy blog page lately. If you're keen on seeing into my silly thoughts here you go. I took a vacation from comic art, and went about half-crazy. Then, there came along a deadline for a freelance comic I'm doing for Corporate America. Yeah, Andy sold out early. That being complete, I thought I had a day off yesterday afternoon. No dice. I got the call on the batphone from my editor at the sunflower that there was deadline that evening, and I could run a comic strip. So with a couple hours to spare, today's comic was ready to begin the summer set. (Ha. Dig my sly Beatles lyric pun. You will have it... and you will love it.) 05.13.04 It looks like tonight brings another set of thunderstorms. Last night was spectacular. I turned off all of the lights in my apartment, opened the window shades, and sat on the couch to enjoy the lightning. In other news, I love the end of the school year. I am making desktop backgrounds for anyone who cares. They will be linked to from the main page. 05.12.04 Man. I thought I had a final today. Even though the schedule clearly said it was on Friday, my schedule said it was today. So I'm working on catching up on sleep this afternoon. 05.11.04 Today was the famous dead day on campus. I woke up super late, and then chilled at the Riverside Perk for a while, sketching and all that. Then off to the Comic shop. $63.01 of fine comic art was waiting for me... Here's a list o'swag: The Amazing Adventures of the Escapist #2 Invader Zim DVD Vol. 1 Liberty Meadows #34 Peanuts Archive vol. 1 All that AND a free parking pass for the RiverFest fireworks on Sat. Read it and weep.
05.05.04 Guess what? It is the end of the semester so you get a terrible pun for today's comic. What can you do? Also, it was regular size as there was no comic page today. Again, what can I say, it's the end of the semester. To try to appease my tens of readers, I have updated an entire semester of archives. Click here to start your archive journey. (No, not like the band.) 05.02.04 Well, there won't be a comic in Monday's Sunflower. There will be one in Wed. And on Fri. These will finish up the semester. Wed. should have a Sunday-sized Don't panic on the comic page and Friday (the last paper of the year) will have a regular Don't Panic comic strip. I just thought I would keep you posted. -o-
04.27.04 This semester is flying by. There was finally a new Don't Panic in the paper, which is always awesome. Lately, I've been working on a new Vortex page. I'll post it soon. Tomorrow there will be a comic page in the Sunflower, so that means there's a Sunday-sized black and white Don't Panic.
Not too much has been happening lately, I've just been finishing the semester and drawing random stuff. Tomorrow: I'm off to Kansas City for the Strokes. Adventure! -o-

Your Life: The Soundtrack brought to you by BZOINK! 04.5.04 Yeah, I scored a goal in each of my two ice hockey games last night. But I am still sore from getting cross-checked in front of the net. You know that the Defense thinks that I am a threat. Dig it. On a cartoon-related note, there was no Don't Panic in today's paper. Watch Wed. for new goodies.
03.31.04 Wow. I finally get internet access tomorrow. Maybe this will mean more cool stuff for the website. I sure think it does.
02.25.04 Today's comic is online late. Sorry. I was in Kansas City, and I met Wayne from the Flaming Lips. Rad Times.
02.19.04 It's raining outside, and there is a thunderstorm on the way. Excellent. I love crazy weather Anyways, enjoy this new comic a bit earlier than usual. (9pm) Or don't, see if I care.
02.12.04 Yup. It's one of those days. Nah, it's more like one of those weeks... Actually it's always 'one of those' times. Awww. Aww YEAH! -o-
02.06.04 Not too much news lately. I've been working and attending class... Sometimes. I think today's comic is really fun. 01.27.04 Locked out, no, actually iced outta my car lately. Can't get enough of that shady Chevy named Elvis. I guess that's my punishment for naming my car after the King. -o-
01.21.04 Semester Started Today. Beat Poet Class WAS Groovy Charlie "Bird" Parker played during a lecture! Don't Panic starts now, new title...same ol' cartoons! Bring it. 1.12.04
'74' Shooting like a rocket northward on I-35 racing the airwaves, hopping from station to station scanning the dial- looking for a familiar sound
Here the darkness is beautiful and large the stars have spilled out across the sky more than ever before
I am the only one on the road tonight
The King Biscuit Flower Hour crackles as I outrun the station's reach Elvis Costello fades into today's pop and back again, to my relief
I stop to quench my thirst I pay silently, my voice long gone from shouted choruses
I look down at my watch It is tomorrow now Somewhere between Oklahoma and Kansas
I have no idea where in America I am
I pull away into the night at seventy-four miles per hour I hurtle towards home
This is freedom
12.18.03 Finals are finally over. I think I bombed on one. Actually- I know I dropped the ball, and it fell through the floor into the basement and is still tearing towards the Earth's molten core. This is a weird news post. Back to business: I made a Don't Panic preview page. It's right here. I'm on a personal quest to use that picture of Steve in silhouette form as much as humanly possible. I know, but I'm too lazy to draw like I should... 12.13.03 Howdy from Hays, Kansas. I have escaped the ICT, and will return when the snow releases it's icy grip on the interstate highway system. Gears are turning, and plots are brewing. I hope it heartens you to know that your loyal cartoonist is on sabbatical this week, scheming to bring you the ruckus in every available avenue of comic ruckus I know.. This being said... I have a bit of actual honest to goodness NEWS: The title of the comic strip The Crew is changing in Jan. It is now titled
DON'T PANIC by Andy Moore. Dig it, if you dare. 10 points if know where the title comes from! The KRT Campus month of syndication for Brew Ha Ha is over, but you can still get them while they are hot. This is a page about the contest results and this is a place to see one Brew Ha Ha sample. 12.05.03 Heyoo! Greetings internet denizens! Today I have an all-new 'splash page' thingamabob up on the main page. I'm not sure if this will be the final entry to the site, but it works for now, and somehow makes my crazy site seem a little more professional, all while being slick... I like slick. This reminds me.. sick rhymes with slick, and That is exactly what I have been for nearly two weeks. This is not good. My family doctor is booked until Christmas eve, and the office's house doctors are always innundated with sick folks, making it hard for me to get better. I should bite the bullet and go wait in line for an appointment tonight. |
